Meet the Team
Matt Simpson
Matt started his insurance career with Nationwide in 1989 as a commercial underwriter. In November of 1996, he started the agency that evolved into Simpson & Blom Insurance with a team of friendly, knowledgeable agents. Matt grew up in Missouri, joined the Air Force, and spent a few years in Germany before finding a home in Annapolis. He has a degree from the University of Maryland and is a huge Terps fan. He and his wife, Patty, love the beach, the mountains, working out, playing with their dogs, shooting pool, and meditating. He plays some golf and basketball while she does her yoga. Patty and Matt love hanging out with their four kids, Joe, Taylor, Ben, and Audrey.
Coby Blom
Coby started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2003. After six years in the Annapolis office, he left to work as a field underwriter for Nationwide and several other carriers. Coby returned in 2017 when Matt purchased the agencies of two retiring local agents and combined their operations into one location in Glen Burnie. Coby was raised in Glen Burnie and still resides there with his wife of 25+ years, Dawn, and their five cats. Coby spends all of his free time at Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland, where he enjoys boating, kayaking, fishing, and working on various projects around the house. He also spends many hours volunteering for a non-profit organization that advocates for homeless animals in the Western Maryland tri-state area.
Dawn Blom
Dawn started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 1997. Prior to working in insurance, she worked in the mortgage industry in Richmond, VA. She specializes in Customer Service and stands by treating customers and co-workers with kindness and positivity. Dawn was born and raised in Baltimore, and currently resides in Glen Burnie with her husband, Coby. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors in Western Maryland, being a fan of the Orioles and Ravens, and a cat mom to five fur babies.
Jose Orellana
Jose started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in April 2014 when he was only 23 years old. He has come a long way over the years and now he specializes in personal and commercial lines insurance. He is also very passionate and experienced with the classic vehicle insurance industry. Jose grew up in Annapolis and he now lives in Pasadena with his wife, Krissia, and their three children, Genessis, Joseph, and Robert. In his free time, he loves to work on his classic vehicles, go camping with his family, and go to the beach.
Susan Collins
Susan started with Tim Hall’s Agency in 2015, in June 2018 Tim merged with Simpson & Blom Insurance. Prior to starting her insurance career, Susan worked with an online/print publishing company where she was the Associate Publisher. She strives to provide customers with a high level of friendly, knowledgeable customer service. Susan is also helping the agency grow through online and social media presence. She loves spending time with family, friends and going to the beach or local winery. The most important things in her life are her two children, Tori and Matthew. Susan will tell you that she’s not a winter person and hates shoes. She prefers wearing flip flops and enjoys relaxing on the beach with her toes in the sand.
Jessica Blom
Jess started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in December 2019 as a customer service representative. In March 2021, she obtained her MD Property and Casualty Insurance License and became an appointed Notary for Anne Arundel County. When Jess is not helping clients or decorating the office for the seasons and holidays, she is enjoying some of her favorite things to do, such as exploring her new neighborhood in Federal Hill, experiencing new adventures with her boyfriend Bryan, thrift shopping with her mom, and spending time with her siblings and nephew, Jaxson. But if you ask Jess, nothing beats a daily snuggle session with her cat Lu.
Audrey Simpson
Audrey started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2019 and specializes in personal lines insurance. She strives to provide customers with an exceptional customer service experience and a better understanding of insurance products and coverages. Audrey grew up in Anne Arundel County, and now lives in Canton, Baltimore. Audrey loves to travel, and she always has her next trip on the calendar. When she’s home, Audrey enjoys watching horror movies with her boyfriend, Paul, and taking long walks around Baltimore with her dog, Piper.
Pamela Lewis
Pam started her insurance career in 1980 with US Insurance Agencies in New Jersey as a receptionist and over the years became a Personal Lines Producer. She relocated to Maryland in 1994 and continued her career with Nationwide Insurance, and in September 2023 joined the Simpson and Blom Insurance Agency. Pam has strong work ethics and believes in providing excellent customer service and treating everyone with respect. She was born and raised down the Jersey Shore and now lives in Annapolis, MD. Pam has 2 sons, Austin and Adam, and has extremely close ties with her sons and her large family. She enjoys trips to the theatre district of New York City to see live shows and her frequent trips to New Jersey to visit family and friends.
Zulmi Salguero
Zulmi started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2020. Prior to this, she worked in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, helping the elderly. As time went on, she found out she had amazing customer service skills, especially since she speaks both English and Spanish, which greatly helps her within the insurance industry. Zulmi grew up in Massachusetts, and now resides in Baltimore with her loving husband, Eddy, and her adorable baby boy, Thiago. Family is everything to her and in her free time she loves to spend time with them. Zulmi also enjoys going on walks, shopping, and cuddles from Thiago.
Coritza Herrera
Coritza started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2020 and works as customer service representative. Her goal is to learn more about insurance so she can provide every customer with the best service experience possible. She recently moved with her family to Glen Burnie. Coritza loves spending time with her husband, Juan Carlos, and her two-year old son, Liam. She likes to go to church and values her relationship with God. Coritza’ s biggest vice is her coffee addiction. To Cori, the most important things in life are her son, her family, and helping those in need.
